It will do the job but I'd happily buy a more expensive option that looks like wood or cabinets. I love that it stretches to fit over my dryer. It was fairly easy to put together, although it would have been nice to have some close up pictures of how everything fits together. I have a feeling it could be a little tighter. The plastic piece on the shelf is a nice touch to prevent things from falling through, but it would be much better if it extended the full length of the unextended shelf. I understand the part that pops out when expanding can't have this. But the rest could have been plastic. The part of the shelf without is almost useless as everything I want to put on the shelf is too small and falls through the shelf having the bars too far apart. Even my big detergent capsules don't sit properly on it. I ended up putting some wicker baskets on the top shelf. And some mini laundry baskets to put things on the bottom shelf. I didn't install the bar. I had a tough time assembling this part and to be honest I didn't put much effort into it as I'm not sure I want a rod. Basically I needed shelves. I'm thinking about making some wooden shelves on two shelves to make it easier to put things on and also make them look nicer. If it works I might buy a second one over the washing machine. I wish it had 3 shelves instead of 2. It would be nice if it had a bottom shelf with more space and then 2 top shelves with less space.
