I think it's great that the cat scratching post is made entirely of wood. I have small children who destroy everything. Just as cats enjoy children's toys, children love to play wildly with cat toys. They think cat scratching posts and trees are something to sit and lean on. This wooden cat scratching post is sturdy and durable. And cats love balls and a mouse toy. The only thing that could be better is if the mouse sticks out of the hole completely and not just a little bit. It would also be nice if you could just snap a new mouse in when it's old and broken.
