Works great on N64

I have compared this along with some other options to scale my Nintendo 64 for big screen use. I know that the TV doesn't have any display lag even when using HDMI, as I've previously connected a computer to it. Although it has a direct RCA AV input, it introduces upscaling to convert the signal to 720p (compared to the N64's 240p). This adds 200-250ms of latency by my estimate, which is very noticeable in most games, especially when the input is time-sensitive (e.g. racing or rhythm games). I've heard mixed reviews about the MINI AV2HDMI and was skeptical given its small size. Is the switch on the side to select 720 or 1080 reversed as well? If you move towards 1080, the TV will report a signal of 720 and vice versa. Admittedly, the height of the unit makes it easy to double-stick to the back of my wall-mounted TV. Initially, the converter had a decent 100-150ms latency, so I didn't take that into account. my win list. But the second hit on the can (after restarting the TV, switching games and setting the converter to 720p) showed much less latency in the sub-50ms range, which turned out to be the best option for me, barring a dedicated one crt. This display lag is usually imperceptible as the animation frame (at 30fps) is around 34ms which means a 1-2 frame delay for scaling. I went back to the first game (Wave Race) and again noticed a lag when switching menus, while in the second game (Super Smash Bros) there was no lag when loading the second time, so this might just be part of the problem. N64 system. As I'm only testing the N64, I can't really comment on the picture quality as I can count the pixels on the fingers of one hand, but the quality seems about on par with my TV's internal upscaler when using AV. input methods. The device requires an external power supply, although I don't know if it can run on the 50mA that HDMI can supply from a TV. However, my delivery included a USB cable (which I plugged directly into my TV so it gets power when the TV is on). can be purchased from Revain for just a few dollars if a replacement part is not in stock.
