Kai - Why bother? in Razors & Blades

Kai make some very good, reasonably priced knives. These are very good but expensive razor blades. If they were reasonably priced I would recommend them. Like Feather, these are Japanese razor blades. I don't like feather; They are sharp like serrated knives. If you want your face to look like a steak these are what you need. These Kai blades are much smoother than Feather but very sharp. They are also suitable for multiple shaves. But $1 a blade? Of course you can buy them cheaper in larger packs, but they are still at least 3 times more expensive. You can get sharper, smoother blades for about $8 to $12 per hundred. The ones I buy for $10/hundred last a lot longer than the Kai and are a lot sharper and a lot smoother. In addition, I tested the blades before using them and there seems to have been poor quality control: the length of the blade was not consistent and sometimes not very smooth. These are some of the most expensive blades in the world, but they're just a step above average.
