Card reader not working out of the box with USB 3.0? Check your USB 3.0 drivers!

The storage worked fine out of the box, but the card reader was not recognized. After a few minutes with tech support, we proved that it works on my laptop. Everything I have works on my desktop except this damn card reader. After a few minutes, tech support raised their hand and said we'd send you a replacement. I was personally curious as to why this didn't work on 3.0 when everything else worked. Although Windows 7 reported that the device drivers installed correctly and worked properly, I decided to reinstall the drivers from the motherboard CD. I did just that, and voila, it's fully working on USB 3.0. Lesson learned: Don't be afraid to reinstall drivers even if Windows says they're good.
