When our trusty Samsung 105mm zoom died, I wanted to go digital. I have tested many cameras but chose Sony because we use multiple Mavicas at work and I am very happy with them. We got the camera and my wife immediately started playing around with it. She had never used a digital camera before but was able to pick up the basics quickly and easily. However, this bad boy has some neat tricks up his sleeve, but you'll need to be able to read the instructions to figure it all out. We used it on vacation and we really liked it. You will definitely want to buy a larger memory card. We chose the 64MB card because the included card can take between 10 and 20 images, depending on the resolution, while the 64MB card can take between 45 and 100. My only complaint is that sometimes an image looks fine on the LCD, but it's too dark on my computer. This is partly my fault for not setting the flash to maximum power. However, I was able to successfully adjust the color/contrast using Photoshop and the image came out pretty well. What I do now is keep the flash on all the time, and that fixed all of those issues pretty well. We got the card from Wal-Mart and printed the photos of it at the hour photo station and they were excellent. good or better than a film camera. Overall we really like this camera and would definitely buy it again.
