Review on ๐Ÿ”ฎ Purple Big Skinny Cellphone Wallet: The Perfect Women's Handbag & Wallet Combo by Jason Martinez

So close to the perfect wallet.

I have had a Big Skinny wallet for many years and love it. It measures 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 x 7/8 (in) with 8 cards, an ID card, some bills and my iPhone 5. (It holds a lot more, but that's the limit of the new wallet.) That only problem was that my iP5 was only on one side of the bill compartment and there was nothing to secure it with. That's why I have to be careful not to turn my wallet over when drawing cards, otherwise the iP5 will fall out. I figured a tall thin phone gym bag would be perfect. BUT: 1. In iP5 it's not entirely appropriate that you have to stretch the valve a bit to click it. That is, the magnetic latch does not "fall" into place. You need to take a few seconds to stretch it into just the right position before it holds against the elastic's force. 2. The magnetic latch is annoyingly thick and stiff, sitting right in the middle of the screen. This defeats the "thin" part and creates a pressure point that can break the screen if you bump into something.3. It measures 5 3/4 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/8 which is a whopping 57% thicker and very noticeable in terms of pocket bulging. This is a combination of a locking lid and a single deck of cards. (In the old wallet, the cards lay sideways in two non-overlapping stacks.) 4. Cannot access the iP5 without removing it. Very simple modifications allow access to the charging port, headphone jack, a screen large enough to take calls and volume buttons. You can put your phone upside down and backwards to access the headphones. And of course, Bluetooth gives you access to everything while keeping your wallet and phone neatly tucked away in the same package. What I really like is that the bill compartment fits small change, a spare key or even headphones. In fact, I can fit the headphones behind the ID, where and most often under credit cards and folded bills, adding only 1/8 inch (1 1/2 inches total). When I'm in a car where I have bluetooth and my wallet in my pocket it works great. I am currently discussing my own modifications. With an old wallet I could probably sew something in to make the iP5 more secure. The new wallet could replace the magnet with velcro and cut a few holes for access.
