I took out a tape measure before ordering. I'm 17 inches around the knee and 20.5 inches when I measured 5 inches above the knee. The Great One's sleeve cut off circulation in the thigh, and the strap wasn't long enough to fully encircle it. Yes, I'm overweight, but I'm not THAT fat, and the reason I got a knee brace was so I could start exercising. I also encountered the non-stick Velcro issue noted by several other reviewers. Not recommended, but if you do, go up a size and don't rely on the strap.
