Bought a cheap tent, got a cheap

I have decided to return it due to missing parts and poor quality. The nylon on the fly is very cheap, it felt substandard. Actually without using it in the rain I would assume it would be ok in light rain but a moderate gale might be too much for that, especially at the seams. Tent nylon was just as cheap. I have a $20 brand name tent from a thrift store that is made of better material. The outer bag it came in has a flap closure similar to the stuff sack I use for my kayak. You have to roll the tent up pretty tight to fit in the bag which is funnel shaped and wider at the entrance. This makes it fairly easy to put the bag on top of the tent, but if you then push the tent deeper into the bag it gets messy as the bag gets smaller towards the bottom, the inner layers of the rolled up tent/flysheet tend to fall inward, leaving the outer layers attached to the top pouches. Not a fan of this, it's not user friendly. There should probably be a tie down strap to help with this, but my tent was missing it (the tent poles were also missing, so when you get this tent set it up and make sure all gear is on before you go outside Street.) The tent was very quick to set up, the easy setup was the best part. It has clips instead of pole sleeves which would be great for most tents but I wasn't sure if the seams would hold up this tent, the pole sleeves could do better to offset the stress on the seams. It also has plastic buckles on the corners to attach the flysheet to the tent, very easy to use. The sticks appeared to be aluminum and they were pretty standard sticks, light and felt strong. You will definitely need a tarp or rag. For this tent, the tent floor is cheap and flimsy. Overall it's like a tent for those who don't really camp much. If you're looking for a cheap tent for the occasional fair-weather camping trip to well-maintained campgrounds, then this might be fine. But for around the same price, the Coleman Hooligan 2 is better overall.

Pros
  • ➀Waterproof and Breathable: This is a two-layer tent made of waterproof 210T PU 3000 polyester, with double stitching and taped seams at the bottom of the tent to prevent leakage. There are 2 doors to get in and out of. 2 windows, inner mesh layer and open door for air circulation.
Cons
  • So far so good
