I mounted it on a white wall and it almost disappears into it. I didn't want a lamp that would draw attention. It's a beautiful light when it's on. My only criticism is that it's difficult to install unless you have a second person to hold it in place as it mounts to the wall with short mounting screws rather than through the face on the side. This fact makes it more attractive as the screw heads are white so they practically disappear. I solved the problem by temporarily securing it with tape, tightening the side screws and removing the tape. Another helper is a magnetized Phillips screwdriver. That way you could hold the bracket in place and pry the screw open with a screwdriver.
