The part is covered with non-stainless steel.
The clock tells a good time. I gave the watch a three because it's supposed to be stainless steel, but as you can see in the picture it's plated. It only lasted a few months and the silver was worn away and the copper exposed. I know I didn't pay much for it but I expect the product to be as advertised.
