I have 2 adult Maine Coons, a fine coated female and a coarser coated male. Despite DAILY grooming with a greyhound comb [http://amzn.com/dp/B0055LVXDM] and mat remover [http://amzn.com/dp/B0056V9RCK], the fine-haired bitch constantly got mats. After applying, setting and rinsing with DMAT solution as directed, the cat's coat was super silky soft and hasn't had a new mat since (this was a week ago). I have also used it on my cat and his coat is now less coarse to the touch and much softer to the touch. I really like that this product rinses off instead of staying on the skin while cats groom and swallow the product. Also, since it's a concentrate that needs to be diluted 10:1, it lasts a long time.
