They are designed for liquid liquids (e.g. isopropyl alcohol), creams (e.g. hand lotion) and gels (e.g. hand sanitizer). .Some people have complained that the resistance is too high and you end up spraying the gel everywhere. Oh well. BUT, if you have a thin liquid, no adjustment is needed. If you have a cream or gel, just take a knife and cut off one or more small valves that contain the liquid. The problem is solved. I made this for hand sanitizer gel and it works fine now. Use your common sense - do your best to keep the lid up; thereby minimizing potential leaks.
