Recently after a long break I decided to play 360 but found that not just 1 but all 4 of my controllers were dead and wouldn't turn on even with new batteries. I thought something fried them, but turns out that after years of sitting in the controller, a small piece of metal caused the electrical connection between the two AA batteries to become permanently deformed to the point where they wouldn't have any juice let more through. TLDR When you think your controllers are dead, smack these bad guys and watch them come back to life.
