May work on some machines

I am ordering this fabric foot for a Janome sewing machine. I tried different types of zippers, plastic, metal. All the zippers I've tried have small teeth. After the zippers were sewn in, they looked perfect, except the stitches were so close to the zipper's teeth that it couldn't be undone. I tried various tricks in anticipation of being able to sew in and unzip the zipper. I didn't succeed.
