Review on Enhanced Audio Record Cleaning Brush - Carbon Fiber Anti-Static Vinyl Cleaner Brush by Alfredo Testerman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No static electricity as advertised. Failed duplication of VOM test.

The theory is this tone. the dissipation of static electricity from the surface of the record to the ground (earth) is harmless to the user's body (body = "earth" or "earth") due to the electrical conductivity of static electricity. However, the brush is not manufactured in such a way that this is guaranteed. The metal sheath is not electrically connected to the carbon fiber bristles. I ran my own tests using two separate digital VOMs. Both gauges showed no connection or conduction between the bristle and the sheath. I quickly understood why: a closer look at the underside of the brush reveals that the outer metal shell and bristles of the brush are separated by plastic, and the plastic is a fantastic insulator! So there is no conduction between the carbon fiber bristle and the metal sheath, therefore no dissipation of static electricity. TO UPDATE! TO UPDATE! TO UPDATE! When the GREAT folks at Boundless Audio learned of this information, they replaced the brush. I used the same procedure as above and tested the replacement brush. Voila! The replacement brush has the necessary electrical conductivity to work as described. Thanks to the wonderful folks at Boundless Audio! My excitement for your amazing product and appreciation for the AWESOME customer service, well, . UNLIMITED.! Love it !
