Review on πŸ”Œ Plugable USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station for Windows and Mac - Dual Monitor Support, Gigabit Ethernet, Audio, 6 USB Ports - Horizontal Design by David Sidman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great all-in-one docking station in a compact form factor that just works.

I don't usually write many reviews but every now and then I'm satisfied with a product that I like and feels like it's worth the money and then some. This is one of them. With COVID-19 raging everywhere, one of my kids needed the right keyboard, separate monitor and mouse to work alongside his laptop. This docking station was my second choice after ordering the first wrong as it only supports the latest AltDP standard over USB. They of course hid it in the fine print so I sent it back. After reading a great review about it on and off Revain I ordered this. It just worked with the DisplayLink protocol, my son's 1 year old laptop, my Chromebook, my own laptop, connecting to a TV, etc. I also use different operating systems, mainly Ubuntu/Gentoo Linux, and then Windows and Chromebooks. Overall very happy with the dock and it works very well for my son. Maybe they can add a USB-C port to the dock, but that's about all I can think of to improve it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Annoying
