Review on πŸ‘– Columbia Stretch Casual Khaki Medium: Comfortable and Versatile Pants for Every Occasion by Doug Bundy

Good belt. Confuse the size.

Always preferred fabric belts for hot climates. This is a beautiful combination design - a fabric belt with a contrasting leather (or leather-like) stripe on the outside. The belt appears to be decently made, although the stitching around the buckle at the end will likely be a point of failure - instead of a full stitch around the edge, there are four large latches. I don't expect this belt to last 20 years like my old LL Bean pull up belt, but it's also cheaper so here it is. The problem with this belt is the size. I first followed the sizing instructions and ordered the belt 2 inches longer than my waistband size. When it arrived it was too long - I could only use the first hole. So I sent it back and ordered the same size as my pants. When it arrived it was too short - I could only use the last hole. Considering that the distance between the first and last hole is about 4 inches, it means that the length of the two belts were about 4 inches different: the 34th was more like the 35th and the 32nd was more like that 31st and none of them worked. . I just went back and read some other reviews and noticed that others had the same sizing issue (okay I admit I might have thought some of the other reviewers had gained a few pounds and not noticed - sorry I doubt you). Bottom Line: The sizing of this belt is a bit random, and while it appears to come in 2" increments, actual differences seem to vary, so you can't count on the belt to go with your first or even second belt fits . Try it. Too bad because it's a good belt. And all my other Columbia gear (especially the PFG line!) is fantastic - nice design and great quality.
