I have had a similar set for a number of years and it comes in very handy for hobby/electronic projects. I have used this kit primarily when working with model airplanes and small electronics. The handle in this set eventually broke so I decided to try this one. The beats in this set seem to be of the same quality as the ones in my old set and there is a wider variety of them. My old set had a collet end on the handle that tightened to grip either bits or an extension. This pen only has a magnetic "socket" into which you plug bits or an extension cord. The extension cord is the same, it's just magnetic and bits fit inside. What I liked best about the old set was that the handle was hollow and a collet allowed the extension to be inserted into the handle so you could adjust it to any length you wanted. However, this magnetic grip is deep enough for extensions and extensions and can only be used at full length. It's a small price to pay for the faster convenience of the magnetic end, so I won't complain. LOL I LOVE the high quality case that fits everything, so much better than my old set. This is a great set at a great price.
