Other one star ratings are correct. Wood look - paper laminate. A box arrived with scratched paper. The fit isn't exact - instructions suggest loosening screws and tightening parts (drawers) that don't fit well together. The drawers jam and without the casters locking you have to pull out the drawer with one hand and hold the cabinet in place with the other. There's a lock on the filing drawer - the lock washer that holds it in place chewed through the chipboard during assembly - the lock is useless anyway - just a little water is enough for a sneaky thief to melt this junk into a pile of sawdust. It is not commercial quality furniture or even dorm room furniture.
