They're very bright when looking straight at them (not) but not so much from the side. I wish they had a wider beam but I'm happy with how they look. I almost took off the star because the cable is in two parts with a waterproof connector in between. The part that comes out of the light is only about 8 inches long, meaning it's exposed to the elements. It would be much better to have this connection in the truck. I still had to cut and splice the cable to get it into my truck because the connector was too big to fit through the F150 grommet behind the back seat. Overall I'm happy with these headlights and hope they last a while. I didn't use a magnetic mount, I made a custom mount out of aluminum and attached it to it with the included 'legs'.
