Review on Premium Quality Webbing Ratchet Automatic Buckle in Wide Brown – 35mm x 110 by Daniel Drury

Serviceable and heavy belt

This strap was ordered to replace another fabric strap that had stretched and was beginning to wear out. The metal buckle in bright silver metallic goes well with trousers or a suit. The nylon ratchet strap is made of thick nylon and is just over 1 1/4 inches wide. It fits into the belt loops of my pants without being too loose or too tight when going through the loops. I like the width of the belt as it fits my belt loops perfectly. It also has the ability to adjust the micro size by about 1.1mm. In this way, small adjustments to the belt length can be made via the belt buckle. This is a feature I like as adjusting the leather belt 1 inch can result in the pants and belt being over tightened or over loosened. to the open position, thread the strap through the hole in the buckle, and then release the tab on the latch. To be honest it was a bit of a hassle to fix the length of the strap. If the length does not fit, you need to repeat the same process again. The belt buckle is also quite heavy. The one I received weighs 4 1/4 ounces. It may not seem like a lot of weight, but some of my other belt buckles weigh between 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 ounces. This is mentioned because this buckle has a tendency to sag even if overtightened. The belt buckle adjustment tab may also get stuck in the zipper line fabric if the end of the buckle is flush with the zipper line. Therefore, the belt may not match the pants. When I was in the army we called it the "concert line" because it had to be flat and straight. If not, the drill sergeant could get the person to do push-ups or something. These are not necessarily issues with the belt itself, but should be considered when making a belt purchase decision. CONCLUSION: If you think a heavier belt buckle isn't a problem, then this might be a good choice for a casual or dress belt. I liked the web belt, but the belt buckle didn't really bother me.

Pros
  • I love the color...I love the fit!
Cons
  • Limited Color Options - While coyote brown is a popular color, this belt doesn't offer a wide range of color options.
