They are surprisingly good for the price. The round thing that you attach to the wall and the main post are all metal. The camera itself is plastic but looks convincing, especially if you mount it high up where you can't really see it. The stability of the mount is pretty decent when it's in place. Do I think they will last forever? no I don't think the weather will be kind to them. If possible I would put them in a sheltered spot, away from the sun and rain. Didn't even try to put batteries in. Real security cameras these days don't have flashing red lights, so it's probably better not to use batteries. And if you secure it high up with a ladder, are you really going to get up and change the batteries every few months? A lot of home security only makes your home a less attractive destination than the one next door. Maybe the cameras are real, maybe fake, but why take the risk? Just move on to the next one. Installing a real camera system is very difficult. You have to catch wires through walls, and most likely you won't get a clear picture of the villain anyway. They probably offer 90% of the deterrence of a real camera system at a great price. More importantly, you can install each camera in about 5 minutes if you have a drill. Installation Tip: Take some tape and tape a small wire where it enters the hole in the mounting tube. This helps stabilize the camera so it doesn't move and ensures the wire never pops out and shows the camera as a fake.
