Good Results

On normal installations, this would be much smoother. The instructions were very easy and also quite funny. My home is a 120 year old farmhouse, so nothing goes according to plan. Something so small and uneventful even challenges you. I tried to drill a hole with a hole saw and hit the wood behind the drywall with the lathe. Didn't really expect a lathe. The hole saw wasn't deep enough or sharp enough to go all the way through. I ripped it through with a strength like a giant. As I turned to move on to the next step, I split my head into my arm for a wall mount for my TV. Maybe take this step before setting up the TV, maybe put on a hard hat, maybe be aware of your surroundings. i am a stupid girl I went to drill a second hole and this time I was ready for the lathe. blood is running down my face, i go to borehole number 2. the hole saw that is tipping over is broken. The drill broke right where it entered my drill. I must have tilted it a bit. Damn, I'm at the finish line! I pressed this SOB bit into my drill and punched it. Now it's time to pierce the wall with small winged chingadas. Since my drywall hides, it's a lathe's dirty little secret. I need to feather the wing brackets behind the lathe. I managed to unscrew the wings a bit and put them right behind the lathe before tightening everything up. If the screw was a fraction of a millimeter shorter or the wall a little thicker, it wouldn't have worked. I zipped everything up and found my HDMI cable was 3 inches shorter despite multiple measurements. A quick order to fill a 6ft cable and life got better! So it was a little fun project for me. I'm quite a hands-on woman who works in the mechanical piping field. Nothing is too difficult for your skilled craftsman. A recommendation would be to use a longer screw or machine screw to connect the anchor wings to the wall sleeve. This allows you to use walls of different thicknesses. I would also recommend keeping another hole saw or gazebo in reserve. I really enjoyed this project and the results were as expected.

Pros
  • Feeling Excited? These grommets are colored for maximum camouflage. Bob Ross would be proud. Hide
