This little subwoofer is perfect for medium-sized family rooms, but it can probably handle larger home theater setups as well. It will shake, rumble and flip your room with very little effort and very clean, POWERFUL bass! I like the gain control to match the sound level with the rest of your speaker setup. It also has adjustable crossover controls. I am using this subwoofer with four Klipsch satellite speakers (from the IFI console) which have very high efficiency but no heavy bass. So I set the crossover to 150-200Hz to allow the subwoofer to reproduce the low frequencies. And does it deliver those lows! Together, this 5.1 setup delivers incredibly clear sound. I'm very picky about sound quality, both at home and in the car, and this subwoofer combined with quality speakers creates an almost live concert sound! This subwoofer is also a front subwoofer, which has an advantage over a floorstanding speaker. Yes, the lower the frequency, the less directional the sound. But when your subwoofer is putting out high power and low-frequency sound pressure, you want the big wave to come at you and not spread across the floor, especially carpeting, which absorbs some of the subsonic energy. So a big plus for this subwoofer is that it's front-firing compared to floor-standing or rear-firing subwoofers that cost many times more. Price range, look no further. I don't know how Klipsch can produce such an affordable subwoofer with such clarity of sound and performance! You simply won't find a better sounding subwoofer at this price point. PERIOD.--TC
