Product did not work as long as expected

I live in a house that is almost 50 years old. As such, it suffers from the inconveniences of the electrical system that dictate purchasing decisions. I'd like to automate some functions in the house, but too many wires going into junction boxes, small junction boxes surrounded by tiles, etc. can be limiting. When I first bought them, I was amazed by the simplicity, convenience and functionality of these lamps. I have 2 carriage style lamps (like any house of this age) on either side of the garage door. They are perfect for securing the front of my house. I like the way the bulbs work from dawn to dusk. They only burn after dark no matter the time of year and no matter if we are in summer time or not. No annoying programming to fiddle with, no wiring in the wall to get in the way. And I don't have to remember to turn it on or off. Great, isn't it? So why the one star rating? Everything worked fine for 11.5 months, then one light started flashing on and off intermittently when it should be on. And when it managed to stay on, it was 1/4 brighter than when new. properly dim, although it should be adjustable, run intermittently, or operate for a much shorter time than the incandescent bulb they are replacing. My solution this time? A trip to my big hardware store nearby to buy a branded LED bulb at a higher price (hint: a big company that has two initials and is a lot older than me). Different in appearance and backed by a multi-year warranty. I hope this time I get what I paid for.

Pros
  • 💎Dusk to Dawn: Built-in light sensor with photocell automatically detects brightness, turns on automatically at dusk (brightness 30 lux).
Cons
  • No machine gun
