Love these buckets! I ordered a second set shortly after the first one, once they got back in stock they seemed to run out pretty quickly. My only complaint is that they go over the edges of my 12 inch deep shelves. It would be nice to have containers that would fit on regular shelves/bookcases. With ikea ivar shelves I can only fit 2 in the shelf and not 3 like I was hoping. When I turn them sideways only 1 difference between top and bottom fits Top: 16" x 11" Bottom: 13" x 9" The sides of the container are slanted, I'm not sure if that's for some could be a problem if you store craft paper/files in it for example. What I really like about them is that the snap ends are straight and not concave like other sterile containers which can waste space. about 0.5 inches and about 1.25 inches on the sides of the bolt handle. The latches are good, old style. I've seen a newer style that I don't think fits at all. The latches can break off at times, but they snap back into place easily. They hold them by the bars and they are comfortable and easy to move and carry. Lids can warp a bit so not necessarily keeping bugs/moisture out. You may want to put some weight on them to keep them closed more tightly. We kept several paper towels in a basket and I turned it upside down so the lid closes tight enough or it sticks out a bit. I can't speak for the long term, but they seem strong enough for lighter items. I also have 30 liter Sterilit Ultra Latch containers that I bought this year. They're the same height, but the 30-litre tanks are a little longer, a little stronger, and the lids don't warp. You might want to go with them if you want something more permanent. Both times I ordered my bins directly from Amazon, they came in a training box. Everything was fine with my first order, the boxes and box arrived in good condition. On the second order the bottom of the box was wet and warped as if sitting in water/liquids but the containers inside were undamaged so I was glad to see that. Unlike cloth baskets, at least they can be washed!
