I put together an acoustic/electric rig and used it on the toms and kick drum because they are basically all single head drums and it helps a lot in killing the overtones. However, they can make working with some drums with short tension rods more difficult. This will raise the flatness of the drumhead a bit, since it's basically like having another head underneath the batter head. Remember, don't miss out a bit. This can work very well on kick and some snares depending on the tone and sound you want to achieve. Works with almost all combinations of heads except aquariun super kick 2 as the head already has an inner felt ring. but then why do you need a muffle ring on this head? A good product should last for many years
