I declined the smaller padded case which was just a convenient way to carry the Mavic Mini 2. It really didn't offer much protection or space. First, longevity is an understatement. This case offers excellent protection. I'm sure I'd hit it across my front yard with a cold rock and the contents would be fine. The interior padding is much stronger than foam and has perfectly sized cutouts. There is plenty of room for all my accessories. The foam top slides out to reveal more space underneath. Two rope handles on each side make it easy to pull out the foam. I love that I don't have to remove the leg extensions. The thoughtful design of this case makes it one of the best cases for the Mavic Mini 2. I highly recommend this case.
