I think most seamstresses (seamstresses? seamstresses?) assemble scissors for a variety of purposes. I could be accused of being a curmudgeon, but I wouldn't be offended. It is true. Anyway they are sooooo beautiful, they are quite heavy for their size which I like. The tips are sharp so you can trim excess thread cleanly. They were a bit stiff at first so I put some sewing machine oil on the hinge and wiped off the excess and they work great. I hang them on my sewing machine with a suction hook because I keep losing a pair of scissors. Every time I cut the thread with them I marvel at how beautiful they are. Treat yourself, get them!
