This table is very modern and cute. The design is great and looks great in our home. I didn't want a plastic set that would clash with my other furniture since it's in my living room. Ordered a table and 2 identical chairs. Although both were durable, they are already cracking and the paint on the worktop is tarnishing. Since this set is so expensive, I had higher expectations. In the first week the table was hardly used, there were fries as mentioned in other reviews. As a kid's table I expect he can wipe it clean without the top starting to fade like it has. I just use a baby wipe to clean up the mess (little pencil marks, crumbs). There are also chips in areas of low usage, right on the edges, so I know it's the poor build quality. For the price I expected better quality and was disappointed. If you can make a little mess for wiping as kids, I'd look at another set. As for chipping, I expect it even if you don't plan on using it.
