Buy some of these lights!

I'm a picky reading light to begin with as glaucoma has made me sensitive to bright light and other aspects of poor lighting. I was looking for a light that would allow me to read comfortably in bed, but to no avail. Also, I don't often write reviews. The lamps have been carefully designed to provide adequate lighting with low glare, especially for such a small and light product. The four position switch in the light head works well and allows you to select white, amber or a mix of white and amber and of course off. I like the mix of reading and white for working in dimly lit or dark places, like under our kitchen sink where I was recently trying to diagnose a suddenly very low faucet flow. The fixture's small size, weighted base and nice long flexible neck allowed me to direct the light exactly where I needed it and there were no pesky issues that often arise such as glare and light fall-off. at the most inopportune moment. In fact, I found out last night that I could place the base on my knee and it would stay in place while I comfortably read a magazine. There was no glare and the sides were evenly lit. I even use a reading light instead of turning on the lamp, especially when the lamp creates glare. Many design elements have been thought through down to the smallest detail. The clip has a hinged pad at the end so the device can be securely attached to the binding of a book or even a wedge shaped object with grippy pads on both the base and sides of the clip. Although the light head is small, it produces an area of even light that is more than enough to light up the entire page of a book, even in a dark room. I think the rectangular shape of the head and the use of multiple LEDs creates such an even beam that illuminates the side but not the rest of the room. As other reviewers point out, you can read in bed without disturbing your partner. Our headboard is too thick to attach a light to, but I either attach it to the book or place it on top of the headboard. Charging is easy but please note that you will need to provide a charger as it is not supplied. I guess the sellers thought almost all of us had extra chargers and that allowed them to sell flashlights for a ridiculous $7.50 each. Because of the LEDs, the charge seems to last for a long time. One very minor point is that when I tried to use the charger and the cable lying around, the cable's micro USB B connector was quite loose in the socket on the base and I had to use the cable that came with the light. This plug fits very tightly into the base jack. Other reviewers appear to have had a broken connector, and a tight fit may be the cause. However, should this be the case, I'm sure I can find a replacement cable in my menagerie that will fit.
