Got them for my son yesterday. He is 10 years old and between 8 and 10 years old. I ordered 10 and they fit him. Although I like the fabric. They appear very soft and of good quality. I ordered 8 to see if it would fit better. He could maybe get away with 10, but they're pretty big. I may return or keep for next year depending on how 8 fits. I have a feeling the 8s would be perfect, they seem a bit on the big side. My only criticism is the button. My son prefers the clasp because it's easier. If your child is between sizes, you can choose a smaller size. I will update when we get a size 8. I also ordered a washed navy blue and am hoping they don't fade too much. I am delighted with the Amazon clothing line, they seem to be good quality at a great price! I hope they wash up well. Update: I didn't get 8 until my first day of school and 10 is actually great after being tightened to have room to grow. In fact, I may end up ordering more than 10's in exchange for 8's depending on the length of the 8's. I find the length perfect. I hate very long and baggy shorts on boys. These look more sophisticated.
