Real metal frame and holder, looks like stainless steel. The mirror feels solid, strong and durable. I'm sure it won't crack or chip over time. This will continue. I've taken about 4 showers with it so far and it doesn't fog up. It remains transparent. First clean the surface you want to stick it on and don't stick it over the grout line. The first few times I stuck this onto the shower tile I didn't clean it or wipe dry. The mirror lasted about 3 hours and then fell off every time I put it back on. I recently washed and dried all the soap scum from the shower. This time when I put the mirror on, it lasted all day and night and still hasn't fallen off. He was stuck there for about 30 hours without falling. So the problem was that the tiles weren't clean enough. There are three large suction cups and it sticks to the wall very strongly - so you can't rip it out. To remove it, it is best to remove the sides of the suction cups. Very happy with my purchase. Of the available shower mirrors, I think this one is the best. And it's great for a budget too.
