Better with DC power supply
They are excellent for garden lighting as their casing protects the bulbs well from water. They are easily adapted to other garden lights as the contacts can be straightened and connected to other leads. The brightness for the required performance is impressive. They seem to last longer on a 12V DC supply. They work great on 27VAC, but seem to have a much shorter lifespan.
