I really needed an EDC box, because the available fleet consists entirely of very large devices. The smallest of the narrow-format ones is the old-combat 50D, the main worker is 1dMkIV, the new worker is 5dMk3 with a grip. When the weaving came out, I waited until someone from my acquaintances bought it - hold it, feel it: I had read all sorts of heresy on the net about an uncomfortable grip, crooked management, etc. I did not wait - in May, before the next trip, I took a hundred. At first I thought about the box, then looked at the prices - and took the kit, the difference was ridiculous. We can already draw some conclusions. The purchase was 100% justified. Obviously, there are some sacrifices - the shutter speed is cut to 1\4000, the ergonomics of the camera with a native telephoto type 70-200LIS2 is quite funny, LV is brake, the map is slow, etc. - but they are not critical to use. But the benefits are very important to me. There is no need to carry around a large device with you all the time - with a manual of 30 or 50 mm weave, it lives perfectly in a large waist bag. The camera is not conspicuous - you can safely shoot among people, in the crowd at events. With all that, having an "adult" mount and all the mirror bells and whistles, the box provides an absolutely adequate quality of the product. On the road, the "rear cover of increased functionality" works remarkably well on necessary, but not often used glasses, such as long TVs or fisheyes. What I note - the box is not "childish" at all! The size in this case can be deceiving - 100D is an absolutely working medium-advanced DSLR, requiring the same attitude as 7d and other advanced crops.
