Review on Gregory Tetrad Daypack: Versatile Backpack Ideal for Casual Use by Justin Stinson

Great holdall with virtually no hassles!

I purchased this holdall for a recent two and a half week trip that took me to Washington State and California. Knowing I now have a 4 month old baby in tow, visiting two different climates and also ending up having a week long official graduate residency program as well, meant I needed as much extra storage space as possible. So I traveled with 1 bag with it? no But it helped me fit all my 4 month old's clothes so he doesn't take up space in our suitcases AND carries my laptop, tablet, cables, snacks etc in a nice detachable personal bag. I did a lot of research on other alternative bags and despite the lack of reviews I chose this bag over the Farpoint Osprey and Ozone Duplex, Thule Landmark (my second choice), REI backpacks and others. This bag has some great features: - Very good build quality all round. - The straps work great for a holdall, as comfortable as most real holdalls with lots of adjustment options. I was impressed with the forklifts and lap belt pretensioners. The detachable day bag is also so handy that I now sometimes wear it as a separate small backpack. The full U-zip opening makes packing super easy and the main compartment fits 2 medium cubes (13.8' x 9.8'). 'x 4') and 1 small cube (11.6' x 6.7' x 4') with space on top for a pair of jackets. I also used a mesh zipper on the inside of the main flap to store an extra pair of pants and a t-shirt in case a baby accident forces me to change. An active screen can be helpful at times, I've used it for dirty baby clothes at times, but a grocery bag would have helped. quick to put on and take off when getting in and out, just don't repack two bags. - The main backpack fits perfectly in the upper compartments, also on the American Eagle sweaters. - The day bag fits my 15" DELL gaming laptop despite having a laptop sleeve installed across the bottom of the package to protect the laptop. It's snug but I was happy that it fit and protected the laptop. Now it has Bag only a few more nagging flaws: - Lack of organization of small items, the day bag didn't even have a single pen holder (see photos of only two internal stretch mesh pockets) Wobbly weight distribution that might try to drop the back of your pants. The Seat belt generally does fine with this - Not the sort of bag I'd take with me if destination theft bothers you, there aren't any serious anti-theft features (it doesn't bother me) - Would like to be able to attach a day bag to the front straps of one Backpacks (e.g. Thule Landmark) to even out the distribution and make it easier to navigate the aisles of the aircraft and get into your seat even faster, e.g u reach. So the bottom line is, a great bag for the serious 1-bag traveler or anyone else who wants to carry a full carry-on and their personal belongings with ease and hands-free!

Pros
