Very soft SATIN pillowcases. Somehow I missed the satin part - so they are a bit shinier than I expected. Less lustrous than a satin pillowcase but lighter in color than the regular brushed cotton pillowcases we typically use. I washed them in cold water and tumble dried low and they came out minimally wrinkled - mostly slightly creased opening edges - as you can see in my attached photo. It has a small flap that hides the ends of your pillowcase and helps keep things in place. My husband didn't realize he was sleeping on a different pillowcase until after the fact - I wanted him to do a blind test. I asked him if he noticed a difference and he said not really but he fell asleep quickly and slept well and wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or not. I asked if it felt cooler and he said it felt cooler at first but then it warmed up like any other pillowcase. So don't expect magical cooling if your head is on it. In general, we are happy with these pillowcases. Very soft and easy to wash. I would recommend these if you don't mind the slightly slippery satin fabric and don't expect it to stay cool for long!
