I use a "wooden" desk and needed something to keep my wrist from hurting when resting on the edge. As a cat lover, I chose it and am very happy with the choice. As mentioned, it's big, but I can manage my table with a few settings. I didn't test this when I originally looked at the product, but I just assumed the pattern repeated - it turned out they're all unique cats, which is a small part I enjoy . that I find it very ergonomic - the palm rest is quite plush.
