Review on Four Paws Super Catnip Cat Scratching Post: Sisal and Carpet, Brown 21 Inches Tall - Premium Quality by Nicole Parker

My cats like to scratch. To save my furniture from these little terrorists, I went in search of a scratching post. This one sold for $12.99 so I figured it wouldn't be a waste of money if my kitties ignored it. While not the strongest or most aesthetically pleasing scratching post on the market, it definitely meets my needs. I've added some photos to show what the rack looks like in real life (and to show how cute my little boys are when they play with it). it!) The stand consists of 3 parts: a carpeted lower square stand that folds in half, a carpeted lower stand and a yarn-wrapped upper stand with a fluffy ball attached. Also included are 2 screws and a washer. I'm not particularly gifted, mostly as I prefer my boyfriend to build things for me while I take care of them, but I built this thing in less than 2 minutes. It's child's play - you just put the three pieces together and you're done. I will say that the stand and base are not heavy, so plan on knocking them over frequently if you have energetic kitties. After building this thing, I put it in the same room as my older cat. The post claims it's "super catnip," although I'm not exactly sure what that means. I think the catnip is just in the fluffy brown ball and fluffy brown area at the top of the post. My cats seem to like to lick these areas the most! Carpeting isn't very attractive, but it's meant to be scratched, so who cares. The piece of string at the top of the pole seems to be another favorite part of my cats. Unfortunately the cord isn't thick and wasn't wrapped more than once so a quick scratch pulled the cord down and revealed the cardboard underneath. (You can see this in my photos.) Again, no big deal, but if you want to display something pretty in a high-traffic area of your home, this probably isn't it. Overall I am happy with my purchase. . I got a good deal and my two cats love to play with it. Hope this lasts a while! I rely heavily on reviews to decide what to buy from Revain so I try to leave good reviews for others!
