I couldn't be more disappointed with this wire. I purchased to install an underground dog fence on my property. I needed about 2100 feet of wire. The sole purpose of purchasing this 2,000 foot spool of wire was so that I would have almost uninterrupted conductor throughout my house except for a few splices that I would have to complete along the entire length. Upon arrival, the wire appeared intact. , although I could only inspect the outer layer of conductor on the coil. I had to wait a month or more for installation due to weather and other projects. I rented trenching equipment for the day of installation and easily dug 2100ft of trench. I started running this wire and to my surprise, after unrolling it about 100 feet, I found a break in the insulation. Well, a break isn't bad, so I cut and spliced the conductor and then moved on. After another 20 feet I encountered another gap. Another 15 feet later. Another 30 feet later. 20 meters later another. Another one 100 feet later. Again and again. Some sections of wire had 10 or more breaks within a 50 foot span. Overall, there were probably about 100 insulation breaks per 2,000 feet of wire. I threw away many sections when I couldn't even walk 20 or 30 feet without a connection. I ended up ditching the last 400 feet of cable and installed some of the cheap 20AWG cable that came with my inlet transmitter (no splices required for cheap 20GA cable). I got 25 joints in total. Again, the only reason I ordered this 2000 foot spool of wire was so that I only needed to make a few connections. Now I have splices scattered all over the area. I had no choice but to install the wire the same day as I couldn't waste the weekend, good weather and excavation equipment. Not to mention that my dogs had already made enemies in the neighborhood and had run away a few times, leaving me in a situation where all I needed was a working fence. I don't normally write reviews but this experience was worth it. A complete waste of money. They literally couldn't pay me the money to reinstall that wire.
