There are sixteen superb UV LEDs in this lamp. However, the matte plastic bulb that covers the LEDs basically dissipates most of the UV effect. So what you have is a fancy blue light with a little black light effect! However, if you remove the plastic you are left with a brilliant 10 watt true UV black light that can be used in a standard screw. in a light box. In any case, I really like the product. However, the manufacturer would do well to switch to a clear plastic cover instead. One star off for unexpected work ;)
