This replacement water pump will not fit a 1988 Jeep.

This replacement water pump will not fit a 1988 Jeep. It will fit, but it's for a Poly-V belt, not a V-belt. So they turned in the opposite direction, in 1988 they had V-belts. It fits as a 1988 replacement but doesn't.
