It's noisier than I thought it would be but quieter than a full-sized vacuum. My five-month-old puppy was a bit frightened at first. I fed her high-value treats of the attachments until she was comfortable. The next time I used it, I didn't need treats; I had to let her play in the suction (she likes putting her nose/tongue inside the suction part). Then she calmly chewed on a toy while I brushed her out. I can't brush her with a regular brush without her trying to use it as a chew toy. It tidied up her raggedy first-shedding coat nicely without getting hair all over the place. I haven't tried the other attachments yet (if I do at all. She's a short fur breed). The suction could be better, but it gets the job done.
