It's thick but not heavy which is a good thing. It's very warm and really soft. Right out of the box it smells like sweet coconut. The print is beautiful and I think it's perfect! It will be a great gift for people who are always cold. This is definitely a winter blanket. The packaging is flimsy, it's safe, but if you cut it, be careful or you'll cut your comforter. I have a king bed for a full bed because I like to wrap myself in it like a burrito. As for washing, I just wash it normally, I didn't follow the instructions and it works fine as it takes a very long time to dry, so I hang it on the stair rail and it helps dry. . But overall I like it very much, I think it's a great gift and I think it's definitely worth buying.
