I used this to plug in a TP-Link smart socket in a dry box in front of my house so I could hook up a string of deck lights to it. This lanyard made this possible as the smart plug fits into the dry box, but the deck light plug was too large and cumbersome to cover the dry box. This cord protrudes through the bottom of the dry box, and then the deck light cord tucks into the cord tucked under the top deck rail to avoid some of the elements. I won't leave this cable, deck lights and smart plug in the cold winter, but so far it has worked great in the wind, rain, humidity and hot summers.
