My son has a favorite jacket so much he rubbed the zip and it broke. He was a bit frustrated so I'm glad I found this solution. Compared to paying someone to replace the entire zip, this was a steal. I was able to get the replacement done in less than a minute since I didn't have to cut/shave off the zipper puller on his jacket. Now everyone else may have different results, but on my son's jacket the stopper was something like a one-way slider with a small notch. I managed to install a spare slide and put it on the stopper.
