My 7 year old son wanted to take his radio with him when he was with friends. He also wanted something that would play his favorite songs at night. This radio fits at a very reasonable price. Perfect size for a child - not too big but not too small either. He takes it around the house, on car trips and to his friend's house when he wants to take his music with him. Pros: * Small but big enough speaker for good sound (for a portable device). ) * Built-in rechargeable batteries last a long time without charging. * You can also insert regular batteries if you cannot connect to AC power to charge them. (They are in a separate compartment from the internal battery.) * My 70 year old son loved the built in flashlight function. * USB player is an added bonus. * Clear FM reception. Not the most sensitive, but good enough.*AM reception is there. Spring. its AM receiving bands. *SWs are an added bonus too, but not as many as I did when I was a kid. * The built-in handle is a nice feature that makes it easy to grab and walk. Cons: * No display for USB MP3 players, so it's difficult to select songs for USB/MP3 playback. Just a "Forward" or "Back" button. * My son lost the power cord within a week. However, this is a simple power cord, NOT a power adapter, so it should be easy to replace. * "Off" button /USB/Radio" is a bit cramped and difficult to use. Accessible? No doubt. But they are MUCH more expensive. It's good value for money with some nice extra features.
