After reading the reviews for both the medium Burning Sun pendant and the small version I couldn't decide which to buy so I bought both as I got free returns with no hassles was offered. The middle version's amber was dull and a little blurry, with cracks on the inside. It reminded me of clear glass. Because amber varies, a different necklace may not look exactly the same. The small version was glossy orange and clear. The middle one seemed a bit cheap but I couldn't figure out why because the quality seemed good. I prefer the size small on a shorter chain. Needless to say, the medium pendant is back and I'm keeping the small one.
