I like my Carl trimmer. It works great with paper, even thicker paper. However, if you laminate a lot like me, you may be disappointed. When laminating, I use the heavier Amazon Basic Pocket sheets. It won't cut them even on multiple passes. I run my laminates through and then hand cut them. By going through the rotary trimmer first I get straight lines to cut with. Therefore, with such use, the blades will not last long. Before I started laminating I was happy with the performance and durability of the blades.
